NEW DELHI: Uttarakhand is recuperating from devastating flood disaster, Relief work has been progressing and lots of efforts is being done by Army, government departments and local initiators, NGOs with the supported grants. But still there is requirement of massive support from the corporate, government, donor agencies and government departments to accelerate the relief and rehabilitation work in affected area.
To address the lighting issues in affected areas, Sunfame India has started distribution of solar lantern through partnering with Society for Inclusive Development (SFID), a NGO initiated its relief and rehabilitation work immediate after the Himalayan Tsunami. A Team of SFID involved in relief and rehabilitation operations providing food and health related support services, rebuilding their homes and lives, counseling & rehabilitating them.
Solar lantern by Sunfame India has low weight, durable and unbreakable and also easily movable and handy products which help the community to address the lighting issues of affected areas of Uttarakhand region. After the receiving solar lanterns, community appreciated and liked the features of solar lantern. Sunfame India has a plan to distribute 10,000 solar lanterns in the affected areas through building partnership with local voluntary organizations, NGOs and other government authorities.
