As the world grapples with the impact of climate change, it has become increasingly important for companies to take a proactive approach to tackle its effects.
BENGALURU: The Union Budget 2023-24 has received widespread acclaim for its focus on ‘Green Growth’, an initiative aimed at striking a balance between economic growth and social welfare in India. Mani Ganeshan, Global Head of Engineering, Travel Sellers Unit, and Centre Head at Amadeus Labs Bangalore has praised the budget and its commitment to addressing sustainability in the business sector, especially in the travel industry.
As the world grapples with the impact of climate change, it has become increasingly important for companies to take a proactive approach to tackle its effects. Recognizing this, Amadeus has launched a series of initiatives aimed at preserving the environment and encouraging social progress. One of the company’s flagship campaigns, “Green is the new Blue”, has already made a significant impact, with the planting of 16,000 trees in the Amazon Forest and the saving of 100,000 kg of plastic from the oceans in the last two years.
Other initiatives, such as the CHOOSE program, Amadeus Powering Good with Partners program, and Amadeus volunteering day, are aimed at making a positive impact on the environment and communities. These initiatives reflect Amadeus’s commitment to supporting the government’s mission of making India a net zero nation by 2070.
Ganeshan emphasized that Amadeus is fully committed to supporting the government’s mission and believes that sustainable development should be a key consideration in the path to a new India. He stated, “Careful consideration and mitigation options are essential to tackle climate change. At Amadeus, we are leaving no stone unturned to preserve the environment. We are committed to supporting the Government’s mission to make India a net zero nation by 2070 and believe that the path to a new India facilitates sustainable development at every step.”
The Union Budget 2023-24’s emphasis on ‘Green Growth’ has been well received by industry leaders, with companies like Amadeus demonstrating their commitment to supporting the government’s mission for a sustainable and prosperous future for India.
