Ludhiana based Vardhman Textiles under its CSR initiatives towards promoting education signed an MoU with Foundation for Life Sciences & Business Management (FLSBM) to set up a State-of-the-art Nano-technology Lab at Shoolini University. The MoU was signed by Prof. Prem Khosla, Chancellor, Shoolini University and Praful Anubhai Patel, Head, CSR, Vardhman Textiles in the august presence of Mr. S P Oswal, Chairman and Managing Director of Vardhman Group.
Under the agreement, Vardhman shall be providing Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)/Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) equipment.
The new lab will be instrumental in helping the university upgrade the skill-sets of students including the UG/PG/Doctoral Program and will play a pivotal role in working on subjects like cancer biology, biotechnology, food technology, photo-catalysis, water purification, etc.
Vardhman shall be contributing a sum of Rs. 3 Crores to the project. By putting Nano-materials and techniques to use in the lab, Shoolini University aims to work for environmental detoxification, clean energy production and waste utilization.
Once set up, the lab will not only provide greater efficiency in research but also allow students to put their knowledge into practice faster.
