MUMBAI: Due to industrialization and aggressive economic development, bio diversity has been impacted significantly leading to inefficient use and exploitation of natural resources. With consistent economic development, biodiversity will become an important criterion for industry to consider as they build and grow sustainable businesses.
Understanding this key area of focus from a sustainability perspective, Treeni Sustainability Solutions, a software product company focused on sustainability & CSR and Tata Motors joined hands to present the 4th edition of Sustainability4Breakfast (S4B) in Mumbai to discuss, debate and form collaborative solutions to address the challenges of biodiversity.
Ankush Patel, Chief Executive Officer, Treeni Sustainability Solutions, said, “There are many companies which see biodiversity as an important aspect of doing business the right way. Speaking about Tata Motors sustainability journey, Arvind Bodhankar, Corporate Head- Health Safety Environment & Sustainability, Tata Motors, said, “Biodiversity management has become an imperative today, if we have to mitigate the impact of climate change and keep the global temperature rise below 2deg C. Large business houses will have to play a major role and support MSME sector.”
The event witnessed discussions on understanding and defining the impact of biodiversity, learning from the experiences of enterprises that have been focusing on biodiversity, and understand the role of technology to achieve sustainable biodiversity goals.
Experts from companies such as Vodafone, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mahindra Susten, Aditya Birla Group were present for this edition of S4B. Going forward, Treeni looks to continue to build editions of S4B to facilitate a platform for the industry to discuss issues relating with sustainability and CSR.
