The mishap took place in the plant’s rolling mill, where a heavy metal plate fell on a worker during operational hours. Witnesses reported that the worker sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to Metro Hospital. Despite the medical teamโs best efforts, the worker succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Local police from Chakradhar Nagar arrived at the scene soon after receiving information about the accident. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the incident and any lapses in safety protocols.

The victimโs family, who reside in Tata, were informed of the tragedy and are en route to Raigarh. The postmortem is scheduled to take place once the family arrives.
