Union Budget 2023-24: Give COO Sumit Tayal Shares Insights on Action-Packed Budget with Implications for Social Impact and CSR Space
NEW DELHI: Sumit Tayal, the Chief Operating Officer of Give, has shared his thoughts on the Union Budget 2023-24, calling it an “action packed budget with several implications for the social impact and CSR space.”
According to Tayal, the budget has a strong focus on particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTG), agriculture-led climate resilience, and concrete steps for India’s energy transition. He believes that the budget will impact the way CSR and NGO decision-makers approach these areas and the funding they receive in the coming year.
Tayal also noted that the budget contains several changes in the regulatory and tax environment for non-profits, which need to be better understood.
Give, established in 2000, is the largest and most trusted giving platform in India. It enables individuals and organizations to raise and donate funds for any cause they care about. Give’s community of 2.6 million donors supports over 3,000 verified nonprofits, serving 15 million people across India.
Sumit Tayal, a former consultant at KPMG and COO at Netscribes, holds an MBA from IIM Bangalore and a B.E. from NIT, Nagpur. He joined Give with a mission to alleviate poverty through enabling the world to give.
