Banyan Trees Transplantation Project on Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg, Maharashtra
NEW DELHI (India CSR): In February and March 2022, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari conducted a transplantation project along the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg, Maharashtra located on the Baramati-Indapur section of NH 965G. The objective of this project was to preserve the environment and provide a pleasing visual experience for visitors traveling along the road.
1,025 Banyan Trees Transplanted
During the transplantation project, the team successfully transplanted 1,025 Banyan trees to the edge of the Right of Way (ROW).
Banyan trees are known for their significant ecological, cultural and aesthetic values. The team made sure to transplant these trees safely to minimize any damage and ensure their survival.
85% of Transplanted Trees Survived
Gadkari informed through his tweets that currently, 870 of the transplanted trees (85%) have survived. This indicates the successful transplantation process carried out by the team. The survival rate of transplanted trees is a crucial factor in determining the success of transplantation projects.
Healthy Growth and Robust Foliage
According to Gadkari, the transplanted trees are thriving and displaying healthy growth. The trees are showing robust foliage every day, indicating their good health.
