Mumbai, India’s financial capital which is the home to thousands of prostitutes, it has become indispensable to work towards improving the conditions of the community and to increase awareness and education within them.

Red light areas located in Mumbai over the years, this has become the most conducive environment for the spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), especially HIV/ AIDS.

Kamathipura, Asia’s largest red light area, is situated in the heart of the city. The government has been working on spreading awareness amongst prostitutes and their visitors; from distributing free condoms, educating the prostitutes about safe sex and preventive measures to conducting street plays and seminars. Various measures have been taken to curb the spread within these districts but the demons of illiteracy and social pressure have become the major reasons contributing to the spread of the disease.

Problem
India currently stands third in terms of countries with the highest number of HIV infections. As many as 2.5 million people are infected with HIV in the country, according to Reuters (March 2010) with 85.6% through sexual transmission alone.

Due to lack of education and awareness the customer who visits these red light areas show resistance to use condoms.

Idea
Special panties would be designed with condom pockets and the message of Aids awareness printed on it. These specially designed panties will be distributed among the prostitutes in red light areas, so that when the customer visits them he can’t miss the Aids awareness message on her panties before the action! This will encourage him to use a condom.

Objectives
To create Aids Awareness through Condom promotion, education, counseling and advertising, encourages the use of condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS. To make this effort happen we will need monetary support as sponsorship. The funds will be utilized in the activation campaign production and documentation of the activity.

Sponsor Benefits
The sponsor shall get a full credit in the documentary film and as well as branding at the activation sites. Brand will be highlighted as a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) as well as through various other award festivals nationally and internationally. Along with the Indian Film Festival, we are proposing the AIDS awareness documentary to go for entry for various International Festival.  We always make sure our advertisement gets global mileage.
