The glow of healthy, youthful, and nourished skin is hard to miss. Such healthy skin looks dewy fresh all day long, even without makeup. Even if you’re blessed to be born with naturally glowing skin, stress, pollution, and the use of harsh chemicals on your skin can make it lose its natural sheen and lustre.

Some may find dietary supplements that include high levels of vitamin C, antioxidants, and other nutrients to be helpful in achieving glowing skin from the inside out. But for most people, a simple yet effective skincare routine is all that’s needed to achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy skin.

You can still achieve perfectly glowing skin by following an all-inclusive and effective skincare routine.

Just identify your skin type and select skin care products meant for your skin. Steer clear of products that include harmful chemicals, parabens, and preservatives. For instance, if you select a facial kit for glowing skin, ensure that it doesn’t have sulphates and parabens as ingredients. Once you have your products, you can start applying them in the correct order to derive maximum effect.

The basic rule of skincare is to apply the lightest formulations first and then proceed towards the heavier ones. So, you need to start with serums and use thick creams later.

Interested to know more about what routine to follow for glowing skin? Here’s a morning to evening skincare routine:

Morning Skin Care Routine

Mornings are the best time to begin your skincare for the day. Let’s take a look at what you need to do as part of your morning skincare routine for glowing skin.

Cleanse Your Face

Cleanse your face with water and a mild cleanser. Sometimes you may feel that your skin still has traces of the makeup you removed the previous night. A gentle cleanser clears away the residues. It also helps remove any excess oil that accumulates on your skin during the night. Take care to keep away from harsh cleansers that can dry your skin and deprive you of the desired glow. Instead, opt for cleansers that include hydrating ingredients to help keep your skin’s moisture intact.

Use a Toner

The pH balance of your skin may be altered when you wash your face. This is where a toner can help your skin. Toners help to maintain the pH balance of your skin. Another function of a toner is to minimise the pores. By applying a good toner, you prepare your skin to become more receptive to the products that follow it. When selecting a toner, opt for one that includes ingredients such as aloe vera and cucumber. For dry skin, toners with glycerin work well. If you have oily skin, you can use one that has salicylic acid in it.

Pamper With Serum

When it comes to glowing skin, serums can work wonders. A serum is a skincare product with concentrations of active ingredients to address specific skin issues. You can use a serum to solve acne, fine lines, dryness, and even hyperpigmentation. You can think of a serum as a skin corrector to help you achieve the desired glow. After applying serum, allow it to sit there for a while so that your skin absorbs it. You can go for serums having Vitamin C as part of your morning routine.

Moisturise Effectively

It is essential to moisturise your face once the serum gets fully absorbed into your skin. For this, you can use a moisturiser. A moisturiser helps to seal in the hydration and prevent moisture loss. Another way is to apply a facial cream for glowing skin. It can help you achieve the dual benefits of moisturisation and skin glow. Whether you select a moisturiser or a facial cream, make sure to do that according to season. This means you need to opt for lighter formulations during the summer and heavier ones during the winter.

Apply Sunscreen

No matter what else you do for your skin, you must use sunscreen. Sun damage is the most common reason to rob you of your youthful glow. Always use sunscreen if you don’t want your skin to seem dry, dull, or aged. Even on overcast days, sunscreen is required.

Finish With Facial Mist

Use a facial mist to achieve that perfect finish for a glowing look. You can easily prepare a facial mist by mixing diluted rose water and a few drops of essential oil. Simply transfer to a spray bottle and touch up with a light spray whenever needed.

Evening Skin Care Routine

After your day is over, you need to help your skin repair and rejuvenate. Here’s how you can do it.

Wash With a Cleanser

Most skincare routines recommend cleansing your face twice a day – once in the morning and once at night. But your night cleansing won’t be the same as your morning ritual. If you apply makeup, you have to first remove it. A make up remover or an oil-based cleanser can help you to do this effectively. Then follow up with a water-based cleanser to clear away all traces of dirt, impurities, and makeup.

Apply a Night Glowing Cream

While your skin is damp, apply a night glowing cream. This will help lock in the moisture and rejuvenate the skin from within. Remember that night creams are designed to be a little heavier than day creams.

Use an Eye Cream

Your dream of having healthy skin won’t be complete if you have dark circles beneath your eyes. An eye cream can help you fix that. By applying the cream at night, you offer ample time for it to work on your skin. Opt for an eye cream with ingredients such as Vitamin E, aloe vera, or cucumber. If you notice puffiness around your eyes, you can use a cold compress to get effective results.

To Wrap

Attaining perfectly glowing skin is not an impossible task. By following a proper skincare routine, such as the one mentioned above, you can achieve effective results. But make sure to use products that are clean and chemical-free. If your skincare products have harmful ingredients, your skin will suffer. On the other hand, products free of harmful preservatives have no side effects on the skin. So, make the right choice for your skin. If you are unsure how to select harmless skincare products, you can go with Lotus Herbals. This trusted brand brings you completely chemical-free and safe products for the skin.
