ODISHA: Sesa Sterlite under its Corporate Social Responsibility came forward to celebrate International women’s day at Lanjigarh. Chairperson Zilla parishad at kalahandi Srimati Majhi inaugurated the function in presence of other dignitaries like Swarnalata Mohanty of Anganwadi training center,Kalahandi, Rojalin Bhuyan Secretary, Mahashakti Foundation, Saraswati Munda former sarapanch Lanjigarh, Sweta Upadhayay,Manager CSR.
On this eve Mr K.K.Dave, COO(SSL) says that SesaSterlite has been giving priority on women empowerment and the area can be developed when a woman can be a entrepreneur. So to enhance the livelihood and the development of the region we have been providing the technical supports and partnering with DIC, Kalahandi for a sustainable development.shrimati Majhi, said SesaSterlite has taken a good initiative towards linkage with DIC, Kalahandi and as a result lots of entrepreneur can come out form the region.
On the eve Mahashakti Foundation organized an awareness rally with lots of posters and slogans on Requirement of Education to Girl Child, Respect to Women, Stop killing girl child etc ” Vedanta Sakhi program program” which is for women empowerment has been launched by chief guest and A Mobile Health Unit van branded as ‘Sakhi‘ is moving to nearby villages for the treatment, nutrient and relevant medicine pregnant women & lactating women.
SesaSterlite has started “woman empowerment program” for up-scaling of SHG movement through women SHG in partnership with Mahashakti Foundation a reputed non-profit organization in KBK region and expertise in livelihood and SHG.Looking to the ‘ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK’ shri Garud Bag, G.M District Industrial Centre (DIC),Kalahandi addressed the presented women for various enterprises and Government scheme.
Others presented in the function are shri Amit Joshi-Head HRD, shri Anil Gupta-Head Commercial,shri.Ranjan Sharma-Head CSR shri Jugal Patniak-COO, Mahashakti Foundation, BalakrushnaRath-Odisha Head Vedanta Foundation, Dr.Akhay Sahu,Sidhartha Behera,Alka Minj, Pallavi Bose, Srimukh Agasty,Soumendra Maharana,Tapas Pattnaik, Santosh PatraVF, Krushna Majhi, Sridhar Pesnia & Chandra Pesnia etc. Around two hundred women and the members of Vedanta foundation has participated in various cultural programs organized by SSL. SHG products from Various SHG groups were displayed in the program place and a health camp was also being organized in association NKBT.
