NEW DELHI (India CSR): The total amount spent by Sarda Energy & Minerals Limited on all CSR activities and projects during the FY 2020-2021 was Rs. 5.37 Crores. The major thrust areas for CSR programmes were โ Healthcare, Education, Art & Culture, Sports and Rural Development projects.
With the objective of sustainable development and continual improvement, the Company adopts a voluntary and proactive approach to CSR to connect with society by creating a sense of belonging. The Company continues its endeavour to improve the lives of people and provide opportunities for their holistic development through its different initiatives in the areas of Rural Transformation, Health, Education, Sports for Development, Arts, Culture & Heritage. Your Company strives for sustainable development programs in partnership with the community.
The Companyโs CSR initiatives usually involve setting the foundation of various programs at a small scale to learn from on-ground realities, getting feedback from the community and then putting an enhanced sustainable model to ensure maximum benefit to the community. During the year, the Companyโs spending on CSR has been more than the statutorily required.
CSR Policy of SEML shall ensure that all developmental activities/ initiatives undertaken are accessible to the most deserving segments such as children, women, the elderly and those with disabilities. This would reflect particularly in the field of education, healthcare, sanitation, community welfare, skill development, infrastructure development, rural development, etc.
The CSR Policy focuses on addressing critical social, environmental and economic needs of the marginalized/ underprivileged sections of society. SEML adopts an approach that integrates the solutions to these problems into the strategies of the Company to benefit the communities at large and create social and environmental impact.
The main objective of CSR Policy is to lay down guidelines to make CSR a key business process for sustainable development for society. It aims at supplementing the program of the Government in enhancing welfare measures of the society based on the immediate and long-term social and environmental consequences of their activities.
The focus areas under SEML CSR policy are Education, healthcare, sports, art & culture, rural development programmes, social business projects, etc.
