NEW DELHI (India CSR): S M Sehgal Foundation (SMSF) is honoured with the ‘Global Sustainability’ award in the category of SDG 2: Zero Hunger at an event held on December 6-7, 2024, at the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi.
Recognition for Sustainable Development Efforts
This recognition highlights the foundation’s significant efforts towards sustainable development goals, particularly in agricultural development, promoting kitchen gardens, and improving nutritional intake, focusing on women farmers and youth.

Pooja O Murada, Principal Lead,Outreach for Development, and Ms. Debika Goswami, Senior Program Lead,Local Participation and Sustainability, accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

Appreciation for Event Organizers and Collaborators
S M Sehgal Foundation expresses its gratitude to ARC, in collaboration with TERI, Earth Day Network, GACS, GPF-India, Jai Hind Academy, and the Council of Royal Roots, for organizing this event.
Showcasing the Kitchen Garden Initiative
On day 2 of the event, the foundation featured a model of its “Kitchen Garden” initiative along with participatory health and nutrition games designed as a part of behavior change communication tools.
Agriculture Development Program and Capacity Building
S M Sehgal Foundation’s Agriculture Development program promotes sustainable livelihoods in India by building capacities of farmers, including women farmers, on improved agricultural practices, and new technologies that increase crop yields, conserve water, and improve soil fertility. The program also builds capacity of women around kitchen gardens that supports farmer’s family nutrition.
