Green Warriors walking India’s Heart line for Freedom from Plastic

DEHRADUN: Rahul Deveshar a green warrior is going to start 2000 KM walks, spanning over 6-months, against plastics from Badrinath, Uttarakhand on October 3, 2014.
“Green Warrior Foundation is setting out for more than 2000 KM walk from the Badrinath, a remote pilgrimage of western Himalayas, to the Arabian sea in Mumbai – in their war against PLASTIC.”, Rahul Deveshar informed.
The Foundation and campaign is lead by Rahul Deveshar a film writer and his associate Mukta Ojha, grass route level activists for different social cause. Filmmakers, Writers, Composers, Lyrists, and Art Directors of national and International repute – from different parts of the country are getting associated with this movement more in more in number in every passing day.
Awakening –Freedom from Plastic walk is spanning over 6-months striving to sensitize people not only about the ill effects of plastic but also how to reuse it in our everyday life.Campaign is reaching out to schools, colleges, gram panchayats and municipalities to make them the ambassador of the plastic free mission.

Freedom from Plastic walk will be conducted by five Marchers. The proposed act of activism will cover 8 states and 30 districts including 40 cities, several rivers, Forest Reserves, Lakes and Ocean covering comprehensive topography. 30 cleaning drives will be conducted on route with support from localities, NGO’s, volunteers and others; including Cleaning drive in Agra behind Tajmahal and a massive cleaning drive in Vapi- The most polluted city in India.
R. Vasudevan; scientist, innovator, visionary and inventor of Plastic Tar road has extended his technical support for the campaign; Sudipto sen – a accomplished filmmaker is working from Mumbai to add on different resources from that part of the country and Sukant Panigrahy, a national award winning art director will be creating art installation in different places for the campaign. The Art installations will be accompanied by a music concert and painting exhibition to spread mass awareness.
