NEW DELHI (India CSR): The Coca-Cola India Foundation’s flagship initiative, Project Jaldhara, was awarded the CSR Journal Excellence Award in the Environment Category. The project, implemented in partnership with S M Sehgal Foundation, received recognition for its impact on water management in rural areas, particularly in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad).
Water Security Initiative Celebrated
The award was presented at the 7th CSR Journal Excellence Awards, held on 30th September 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Dignitaries such as Shri Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Shri Om Birla, Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha, attended the event. This recognition highlights Coca-Cola India’s dedication to sustainable water management as part of its 2030 Water Security Strategy.
Innovative Solutions for Safe Drinking Water
Project Jaldhara focuses on providing access to safe drinking water through water ATMs, reverse osmosis (RO) filtration units, and wastewater tanks. These solutions have been implemented in multiple villages across Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, ensuring that hundreds of residents have access to safe water for drinking and household use. The project also includes the formation of Water Management Committees to ensure long-term sustainability.
