While echoing the sentiments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Rusen Kumar, Founder and CEO of India CSR Network, stated that there is an urgent need to activate and set up regional 24×7 telemedicine clinics at Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as a focused line for alternate ways of assessment of a patient who doesn’t require critical attention.
“This noble initiative will certainly help reduce the burden on healthcare facilities,” he said.
There is a need to use digital health solutions to enable real-time data and analytics on the patient, medication, and vaccination for Covid-19 patient for planning and predictability towards supply-chain efficiency.
There should be means to incentivize hospitals and healthcare providers for the adoption of digital healthcare tools like Covid-19 Management Solutions, Telemedicine & Virtual Consultation Platforms along with other clinical solutions, which helps in better outcomes for care providers and patients.
“It is an appropriate time to build public-private-partnership (PPP) projects involving healthcare and technology providers companies working in the medical care space for faster and scalable digital healthcare infrastructure in our country.”, Rusen Kumar added.
Prime Minister Modi had an interaction with doctors across the country via video conferencing on the Covid-19 issue and vaccination progress on Monday where he had also encouraged doctors to use telemedicine for the treatment of other diseases, in case there is no emergency.
The Prime Minister had expressed his concern that the pandemic is spreading rapidly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well. His called for accelerating efforts to upgrade resources in such places.
The Prime Minister urged the doctors to educate people against several rumours on Covid treatment & prevention. In these difficult times, PM Modi said, it is very important that people do not become a victim of panic. For this, PM Modi said, along with proper treatment, emphasis must also be on counselling of patients admitted in hospitals. PM Modi also encouraged doctors to use tele-medicine for treatment of other diseases, in case there is no emergency.
