NEW DELHI (India CSR): TELUS Digital, a leader in AI-powered customer experience and business process solutions, has launched its India Community Board, marking a significant expansion of its global “We Give Where We Live” philosophy. This launch builds on TELUS Digital’s global giving legacy, which has already touched more than 1.2 million lives across Bulgaria, the Philippines, El Salvador, Romania, and Guatemala.
Transforming communities through strategic partnerships
The board’s initial USD 200,000 investment will support 11 local NGO projects, benefiting over 2,100 individuals in underserved communities. The initiative focuses on creating grassroots impact across three key pillars: health, education, and environmental sustainability. The 11 projects include:
1. NGO: Bright Future
Program: Bulandi
Over 160 youth from underserved communities in Ahmedabad will be provided with a 3-month comprehensive training and skill development for employment in banking and finance, ITES, customer relations, workplace readiness, placement support and soft skills training.
2. NGO: CATCH Foundation
Program: Miyawaki Dense Forest
Planting 1,000 native trees using the Miyawaki method to create a dense, fast-growing forest ecosystem. This approach yields forests that grow 10 times faster and are 30 times denser than conventional plantations.
3. NGO: Challengers Group Trust
Program: Challengers Ki Pathshala
Offering free education and midday meals to 150 underprivileged children via learning centers. The children will be provided with academic instruction, including basic literacy and numeracy skills, educational activities and learning opportunities that will help them integrate smoothly into mainstream schools.
4. NGO: Etasha Society
Program: AtmaNirbhar
Training 220 youth from low-income communities by providing industry-relevant skills training on computerised accounts, taxation and tally program for 2 months, with an 80% job placement target.
5. NGO: Give Me Trees Trust
Eco TELUS Days of Giving
Planting 1,000 endemic trees, increasing green cover area and local biodiversity within Noida.
6. NGO: India HIV / AIDS Alliance
Program: Baal Poshan
Providing critical nutrition support to 135 children living with HIV. Nutritional supplements will be distributed monthly, and children’s growth and health status will be continuously monitored.
7. iVolunteer
Program: TELUS Days of Giving School renovation
Renovating a school that supports underprivileged students in Noida to help address resource gaps and create safe and inspiring learning spaces for students and teachers alike.
8. NGO: Jivika Foundation
Program: Cervical Cancer Mukt Bharat Abhiyan
Providing HPV vaccination (2 doses) to 210 young girls from underserved communities, together with cervical cancer education.
9. NGO: Niswarth Seva Sankalp Trust
Program: Project Shiksha
Providing comprehensive assistance to 60 specially abled underprivileged children. They will be helped through a learning program focused on basic literacy, subject-based knowledge, and workshops on personality development, mental health, and financial literacy.
10. NGO: Setu
Program: Project Saksham
Providing IT skills training to 100 women from underserved communities to upskill them, leading to employment and helping them achieve self-reliance.
11. NGO: Social and Development Research & Action Group
Program: Sarthak: Environmental Sustainability & Livelihood for Migrant Women
Teaching sustainable livelihoods to 120 migrant women by repurposing recycled materials into marketable goods.
