AHMEDABAD: The Adani Act organized a pan-India Blood Donation Drive on June 24, 2016. Gautam Adani commenced the drive by donating blood for the noble cause. Led by his example, the employees of Adani Group across India came forward with enthusiasm and collectively donated an impressive 9655 units of blood in a single day. The drive was organized in association with Indian Red Cross Society and other regional agencies.
Blood donations can give a new lease of life to many. This thought was overwhelmingly put into action by the entire Adani Group Parivar during the Blood Donation Drive. The fervor, coupled with the numbers of sleeves that rolled up to donate blood, speaks volumes about the commitment of the Adani Group towards contributing for welfare of the society.
The practice of giving is universally recognized as one of the greatest human virtues, which affirms the depth of humanity. In a quest to give an opportunity to all the employees of Adani Group, a similar Blood Donation Drive was also held last year. 7600 units of blood were collected as a result of the remarkable participation from employees across all businesses and locations. In recognition of its commendable efforts & dedication towards Voluntary Blood Donation, Governor of Gujarat,O.P. Kohliji felicitated the Adani Foundation, the Group’s CSR wing, with an award, at a function organized at the Raj Bhawan on March 19, 2016.
Over the last two decades, the Adani Foundation has been playing the role of facilitator for the benefit of the public without distinction of caste or community, sector, religion, class or creed, for social and economic welfare and upliftment of the people in general. It abides by the Gandhian philosophy of trusteeship and believes in using wealth, talent and privileges for those who are less fortunate.
The Foundation works in four chosen areas of operations namely – Education, healthcare, sustainable livelihood development and rural infrastructure development. It endeavours to make the less fortunate ones of the society self-reliant through its chosen CSR initiatives and towards bettering as many lives as it can by bringing smiles to the communities.
While the Adani Group continues its exponential growth, its commitment towards “Doing Better” for the society keeps pace with its ambitions of “Thinking Big”.
