The initiative aims to impact more than 1 lakh, underprivileged students, by providing smart classroom infrastructure to their schools.

Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division), Asia Pacific’s leading paint manufacturer in collaboration with Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME), announced the launch of an art competition for aspiring child painters. The contest invites school children from across India to participate. The contest is categorized into three age groups: Less than 8 years, 8 – 12 years and 12 – 16 years. The winning entries will be displayed on prominent walls as part of the Greater Chennai project. In addition, they will bag cash prizes as well.
Themes
The overarching theme for the art competition is “Colour Your Dreams.” The sub-theme for age groups are – Less than 8 years (If I were a cartoon character/ Under the Sea/ Ambition), 8 to 12 years (My dream world/ Safe world/ Reduce reuse recycle) and 12 to16 years (Water is life/ Healthy world/ Indian tradition form).
Deadline
The interested students will send their entries digitally or through the courier by October 31, 2021. The Indian Institute of Architects (TN Chapter) would do the first round of judgment on the city-wise artworks based on their artistic and creative merit.
Shortlisted winners would be chosen and a panel of eminent judges will make the final judgment. The final winners across categories will be announced on 14 November 2021 and felicitated at an award ceremony later.
Interested students can register themselves on the RCME portal (www.rcme.org) and pay a nomination fee of a minimum of INR 250 on or before October 31, 2021.
The registration cost would be used for a service project proposed by RCME- E-Shala, which will be the provision of digital school infrastructure impacting 1, 00,000 underprivileged students. Interested children can wish to pay a higher nomination fee.
