The Tata Trusts’ commitment to social good has been deeply rooted in the values of the Tata family, with Ratan Tata and his predecessors at the forefront of India’s philanthropic landscape.

MUMBAI (India CSR): In a significant leadership transition, Noel Naval Tata has been appointed as the Chairman of all the Trusts that constitute Tata Trusts, following the passing of Ratan N. Tata. The Trustees of the various Trusts held a joint meeting in Mumbai on Oct 2024, where they expressed their condolences over the loss of Mr. Ratan N. Tata and reflected on his invaluable contributions to the Tata Group and his unwavering commitment to nation-building.

Immediately after the joint session, in separate meetings, the Trustees unanimously appointed Noel Naval Tata as the new Chairman of the Trusts. His appointment takes effect immediately, and it marks a new chapter for one of India’s oldest and most respected philanthropic institutions.

A Legacy of Leadership and Philanthropy

Noel Naval Tata’s appointment as Chairman of Tata Trusts comes at a pivotal moment, as the Trusts look to continue their century-long tradition of driving social good and supporting India’s development. Mr. Tata takes over the reins from Ratan Tata, who was widely revered for his leadership and vision in expanding the Trusts’ philanthropic efforts.

Speaking on the occasion of his appointment, Noel Naval Tata expressed his deep sense of responsibility and commitment to continuing the work of his predecessors. In his statement, he said, “I am deeply honoured and humbled by the responsibility that has been cast on me by my fellow Trustees. I look forward to carrying on the legacy of Mr. Ratan N. Tata and the Founders of the Tata Group. Founded more than a century ago, the Tata Trusts are a unique vehicle for undertaking social good. On this solemn occasion, we rededicate ourselves to carrying on our developmental and philanthropic initiatives and continuing to play our part in nation building.”
