Navin Fluorine International Exceeds Statutory CSR Spending, Impacting Over 23,000 Lives in Financial Year 2021-2022


Mumbai (India CSR): Navin Fluorine International Limited, a leading player in the global fluorine chemistry sector and part of the Padmanabh Mafatlal Group underscoring the firm’s commitment to community development and upliftment of marginalized sectors of society.

As per the mandate under Section 135 of the Companies Act, the Company was required to allocate Rs. 5.23 Crores towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Demonstrating its dedication to societal betterment, Navin Fluorine International exceeded this figure, committing Rs. 5.28 Crores. This amount represents more than 2% of the average profit after taxes as calculated in terms of Section 198 of the Companies Act, 2013, over the past three financial years.

Navin Fluorine International’s CSR initiatives are guided by a structured policy ratified by the Board of Directors, ensuring a dedicated approach towards CSR engagement. In the previous financial year, the Company’s programs positively impacted approximately 23,613 lives through community development initiatives.

As you can see, the company’s CSR investment has increased over the years. The company has invested a total of Rs. 21.03 crores in CSR initiatives from FY 2019 to FY 2022. This is a significant amount of money and shows that the company is committed to making a meaningful contribution to society.

During the reviewed financial year, Navin Fluorine International diversified its CSR initiatives, investing across healthcare, education, sports, animal care, and other significant social causes.

Sudhir G. Mankad chairs the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, with Vishad P. Mafatlal and Harish H. Engineer serving as committee members. This Committee operates under the comprehensive CSR policy, reflecting the Company’s CSR philosophy. The policy covers a wide range of activities eligible for CSR contribution and provides a robust framework for the selection, execution, and monitoring of CSR activities, along with voluntary impact assessment.
