Bengaluru: National Social Entrepreneurship Forum (NSEF) is a non-profit organization with the objective of promoting Social Entrepreneurship in Universities across India. With this objective NSEF establishes chapters at local communities which conduct various activities to create an ecosystem that will produce the next generation of Social Entrepreneurs. IIM Lucknow, BITS Pilani – Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad Campuses and Mount Carmel, Bangalore being a few of them.
It organizes various activities like Lecture Series, Workshops, Social B-Plan Competition and Blogging Competitions. Via its NSEF Author Program, wherein selected candidates from India’s reputed universities gets industry exposure in Social Businesses. The programs that these authors work upon spans a wide spectrum of topics like marketing, social media, market research, IT enabling, product development in organizations like Industree, Samhita Social Ventures, EkSochh, Zameen Orgainc and Eco Exist to name a few.

To move a step further ahead, NSEF is organizing the NSEF Youth Confluence in Bangalore, India on the 23rd of October 2010. With the theme of “Youth and Social Entrepreneurship” the confluence will act as a platform for the younger generation to gain knowledge about the various possibilities in the emerging space of Social Entrepreneurship and to help their ideas and ventures get mentorship and other support.
The confluence will witness an array of renowned experts from the field of Social Entrepreneurship and student participation from all major universities in India.
It will comprise of:
1. Talks and Panel Discussions by reputed and seasoned social entrepreneurs.
2. Idea to Reality Competition: With the aim to provide Mentorship, Training and Incubation support to worthy Social Venture Ideas.
3. Start-Up exhibition by selective young social enterprises.
Confluence 2010 will also bring together the best and the most aspiring Social Entrepreneurs of India.
