GURUGRAM: In order to tackle the growing menace of dengue in the city, DLF Foundation hosted an awareness workshop a part of Mission Stop Dengue– a joint initiative by Medanta and DLF Foundation.
The session received participation from the residents of DLF5 condominiums which included The Aralias, The Magnolias, The Icon, The Belaire, Pinnacle, The Summit, Trinity Towers, Royalton Towers, Westend Heights, Wellington Estate, Carlton Estate, Princeton Estate and Exclusive Floors.
The session was conducted by Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri recipient, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chief Cardiac Surgeon and CMD, Medanta and his team of doctors. The workshop demonstrated to the participants the ways in which they could tackle the issue of dengue, both through preventive measures along with Allopathic and Ayurveda cures. The session also aimed to make the participants aware on how to detect the symptoms of the onset of dengue.
As a part of this initiative, each condominium appointed one Mission Stop Dengue Ambassador whose task will be to ensure that all preventive measures against dengue are being followed in their society. All of these ambassadors will keep close contact with the team from Medanta where a war room has been set up for people to connect for any query regarding dengue.
These series of awareness workshops are being jointly organized by DLF Foundation and Medanta. Building on its commitment to prevent Dengue, through continuous engagement with various stakeholders, this workshop is a part of the Dengue Awareness Drive that DLF Foundation and Medanta is organizing across Gurugram over a couple of weeks.
The aim of the Mission is to spread awareness about the disease which is entirely preventable. Through Mission Stop Dengue, our aim is to reach out to a maximum number of people to ensure dengue prevention and control,” said Vinay Sahani, CEO, DLF Foundation.
Elaborating on the campaign, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chief Cardiac Surgeon and CMD, Medanta added, “The basic idea behind Mission Stop Dengue is to raise awareness to prevent the spread of this killer disease. Prevention is critical for which knowledge about how to do so is key. The greater the participation, the greater the success of our cause. We would like to thank DLF Foundation and DLF5 for their support for this important cause.”
Umesh Sapra, a resident of Trinity Towers and one of the Mission Stop Dengue Champion said, “This workshop is a great initiative by DLF Foundation, Medanta and DLF5 team for educating and creating awareness on an ongoing critical issue being faced in the city. It was extremely engaging and helped us in understanding what we can do in our daily lives to prevent this disease”.
BK Chawla of Westend Height and one of the Mission Stop Dengue Champion said, “The workshop helped us learn about the know-how of Dengue and quick tips for tackling the dengue menace, both through preventive measures and also through medication and ayurveda. We hope that the team continues to be a part of such initiatives in the future”.
