Delhi based Asia Pacific Institute of  Management, which has MDP Centre is organizing on day program on CSR: Non Financial Reporting Aspect, How Useful? On September 14, 2012 in its campus. Institute has world class infrastructure for Management Development Progrmmes. The program is meant for, top and middle level HR and CSR professionals from PSUs, NGOs and Corporates. Participants have to register themselves for the MDP. Senior faculty of the institute Dr. Veena Tewari Nandi and Dr. Poonam Kumar are the resource faculty for the programme.

Some of the issues which will be covered in the programme are, sustainability measurement, why companies and other organizations publish sustainability reports, what is sustainability reporting or non-financial reporting?, why is it important? how sustainable reporting is to be done- reporting framework and the drivers and levers behind NFR.

Some of the best known and most widely used sustainability measures include corporate sustainability reporting, Triple Bottom Line accounting, and estimates of the quality of sustainability governance for individual countries using the Environmental Sustainability Index and Environmental Performance Index. The highlight of the program will be open discussions on GRI G-4 guidelines which are going to come up in May 2013.

India is fast emerging as a growth engine and the Indian businesses are now facing new challenges. These new-age challenges are different from the conventional ones active so far viz. Challenge of growing profits, revenues and markets in the face of increasing competition, etc. The new challenges centre on securing a ‘social license to operate’, ensuring long term sustenance, generating a long term value and creating a win-win between business, society and the environment. In the midst of these transformational challenges, it is imperative for the business to perform not only financially but also to be good corporate citizens. Following the path of holistic growth and creating sustainable values is the only route that leads to embracing transformation, combating challenges and achieving growth. But is walking on the sustainability path alone is enough?

Sustainability measurement and reporting is a term that denotes the measurements used as the quantitative basis for the informed management of sustainability The metrics used for the measurement of sustainability (involving the sustainability of environmental, social and economic domains, both individually and in various combinations) are still evolving: they include indicators, benchmarks, audits, indexes and accounting, as well as assessment, appraisal and other reporting systems. They are applied over a wide range of spatial and temporal scales.

The participants have to register themselves, fees is Rs. 7500/- per person. Registration details can be taken from Dr. Veena Tewari, veenatewari@yahoo.com and Dr. Pooanm Kumar, poonamkumar123@gmail.com.  Certification of participation will be awarded to each participant.
