JAIPUR: Realizing the importance of Self defense in today’s scenario, Mayur Uniquoters Limited has conducted a voluntary workshop for the female students of Government Senior Secondary School, Dhodsar. The workshop was conducted for 4 batches of 7 days each. The initiative was well accepted and appreciated by the students, teachers and parents.
Several techniques of self defence like Basic single & Double jab cross Punch, Basic kick, Knife technique, Jab straight punch, Between 2 leg front kick Neck hold techniques), Basic push kick, Defensive blocks, Elbow attack on taller opponent, Leg pulling & Back hold techniques) were taught in the able guidance of Ms. Richa Gaur ( Muay Thai Queen of INDIA) who has represented India and has brought laurels in many National & International Competitions. 206 students have been benefited through the workshop.
Looking to the participation and to encourage the participants, the best performers were rewarded during the closing ceremony. Mayur’s CSR Manager Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh share that company always believe women self-defense has become the most concerned activity to discuss and perform in recent years. With the raise in sexual assaults and harassment there is very much urgency in this field to maximize the awareness and play a positive character to help them.
There are many reasons for women’s to train themselves in self-defense. As women’s prefer living in their comfort zone but after the unfortunate incidents happened all over the country many of them have geared up and many are still awaiting an opportunity. Some of the reasons that they must train includes Sexual Assaults and harassment, Women have less strength then the men,Cultural lines and mentality to treat them differently,Kidnapping & killing attempts and Threatening attempts
Mayur Uniquoters decided to provide training through Global institute of Self Defense & Martial Arts & they implements the training methods focusing on both mental and physical preparedness to avoid, react and escape safely. The company has planned to conduct similar sessions for the other 2000 female students as well. School Principal, Child Development Project officer of ICDS, representatives from village Dhodsar were also present in the closing ceremony and appreciate the initiatives taken by Company.
