SAMBALPUR (Odisha): Celebrating its 26th Foundation Day, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, today launched mobile applications for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Bill Tracking System (BTS).
Developed in house by the Department of Systems, both the applications were launched by A K Jha, Chairman & Managing Director, MCL at MCL Day Lecture organised on the occasion of 26th Foundations Day of the company.
Appreciating the Department of Systems, MCL for developing these applications, Mr Jha said that these android-based mobile applications would be beneficial for company’s stakeholders.
Prominent among others present during the launch included honoured guests Dr R N Sharma, Chairman (Retd), Coal India Limited, S N Sharma, CMD (Retd), MCL, S R Upadhayay, CMD (Retd), MCL, A N Sahay, CMD (Retd), MCL, besides Mr J P Singh, Director (Technical/Operations), L N Mishra, Director (Personnel), Munawar Khursheed, CVO, representatives of employees’ unions, General Managers and Heads of various Departments.
Mobile Application for Bill Tracking System (BTS) has been developed with an objective to provide a tool to our valued vendors/contractors through which they can view the status of bills submitted by them in MCL. This application provides real-time status of the bills which will result in bringing more transparency in the entire activity.
Similarly, the objective of mobile application for CSR is to provide some useful information related to the CSR activities completed/undergoing across several districts of Odisha. The CSR Information application contains Head wise, Schedule VII wise, Area wise and District wise expenditure reports and major activities under CSR in pdf format. It also contains information about the CSR policy, Annual Report and Budget and Expenditure details under CSR of MCL.
MCL, known as front runner in e-initiatives in Coal India, is highest coal supplying company of the country. It had despatched 143 million tonne dry fuel to consumers, particularly thermal power plants.
