New Delhi: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) conserved more than 76 million units of energy, avoiding over 60,000 tons of carbon emissions at their establishments, in last 8 years.
L&T integrates environmental protection across all its operational activities through optimal utilization of energy sources, eliminating waste, adopting greener processes and developing greener products.
The company ensures the greener and healthier environment through its initiatives.
Around 18.2 million units of renewable energy are used in L&T campuses which contribute to over 5% of the electrical energy mix.
Greenhouse gas emissions have also been decreased by 25.13% as compared to FY 2011-12.
The company has also developed a green product and service portfolio, which delivers engineering and design solutions focused on sustainability and infrastructure with decreased environmental impacts with lower carbon emissions, less water consumption, less air pollution, improvement in energy efficiency and conservation of resources.
