Mulshi, PUNE (India CSR): Tata Chemicals, through its community development arm, Tata Chemicals Society of Rural Development (TCSRD), has launched its first Livelihood and Skill Training Centre in Mulshi, Pune. This initiative, in collaboration with the NGO Light of Life Trust (LOLT), aims to benefit around 430 individuals from 10 villages surrounding the Tata Chemicals Innovation Center during the fiscal year 2024-25.
The centre will offer a variety of short-term training courses, including AC Technician, Electrician, Computers, Beauty Care, Spoken English, Mehendi Design, and Job Readiness Training. The goal is to provide participants with the skills needed for employment or to start their own businesses.
Alok Chandra, Chief of Health, Safety & Environment and CSR at Tata Chemicals, emphasized the importance of the centre in addressing the gap in livelihood opportunities identified through an extensive community needs assessment. He noted that the collaboration with LOLT will enhance capacity building and bring about a transformative shift in the Mulshi area.
The Livelihood and Skill Training Centre in Mulshi represents a significant step towards empowering local communities through skill development and employment opportunities, reflecting Tata Chemicals’ ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community development.
