NEW DELHI: LG Electronics India today launched Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR initiative Karein Roshni to sponsor free of cost Eye Operations to thousands of needy people. To offer the service LG has partnered with Sankara Eye Hospital, a leading charitable eye hospital. This year is a milestone for LG as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary in India.
“The initiative aims to Gift a Vision to the visually-impaired people of the eve of festival of lights – Diwali, this year.”, Kim Ki Wan, Managing Director of LG Electronics India said.
“Under the aegis of this initiative LG will also invite the nation to come forward and pledge to donate their eyes for this noble casue at LG Shoppees.”, statement said.

“Karein Roshni to cater in bringing light into the lives of visually-impaired persons. We feel strongly for this cause and ensure that consumers too come forth to help such persons by pledging at our stores. Since LG has a reputation as a brand that cares for the society, we are happy to be at the helm of such noble causes.’’, Kim Ki Wan further added.
The initiative also offers the consumers participating, a chance to play Live Games with the Blind Cricket World Cup Winning Team, managed and supported by Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.
“LG is parterning with Sankara Eye Hospital and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, for this initiative. Sankara Eye Hospital is a dedicated hospital with leading experts in the field of ophthalmology and treats patients coming from different parts of India. Samarthanam is very dedicately, serving the cause of improvement and empowerment of Disabled.
“LG will roll out this initiative through radio and digital media and have on-ground activations at LG stores inviting Indian citiens to pledge donating their eyes for this cause.”, statement said.
The digital campaign is very heart touchingly developed via a Video Song, curated by Shamir Tandon, a renowned and award winning music composer. The Video song itself is titled – Karein Roshni and comprises of singers who are visually impaired.
