Bengaluru (India CSR): The Government of Karnataka’s Department of Health and Family welfare, in partnership with Dr. Rajkumar Trust, Essilor Vision Foundation and CGI, launched Namma Drishti, Namma Karnataka, an eye health awareness campaign to make eye care accessible for all.
As part of this state-level campaign, free vision screening camps providing comprehensive eye check-ups and eye care will be held at government health centers for the underprivileged communities of the state.
Speaking at the inaugural event, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai said,” Dr Puneeth Rajkumar as a campaign ambassador for this noble initiative will compliment the government of Karnataka’s eye care initiatives for the needy people”
“Eye conditions, including uncorrected poor vision, is a serious global health issue that won’t improve on its own. That’s why Essilor Vision Foundation, in partnership with the Government of Karnataka, Dr. Rajkumar Trust and CGI, will continue to champion the need for good eye care and work towards providing services to the needy in a socially responsible way,” said, Milind Jadhav, Trustee of Essilor Vision Foundation India.
“Programs like this not only provide much-needed access to vision screening camps and the proper eye care for the people in need but also help increase awareness on the importance of good vision which hopefully encourages people and their families to participate in regular eye check-ups”, said Ms Ashwini Puneet Rajkumar, Trustee Dr Rajkumar Trust.
