NANGUL (Odisha): A mini marathon run named as green run, massive plantation drive, awareness prorammes and competitions on environment theme have been organised by Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) to celebrate World Environment Day – 2016 on June 5, 2016 at Angul.
Executive Director (i/c) and Location Head of the unit Dinesh Kumar Saraogi flagged off the ‘Green Run’ early in the morning, in which more than 400 employees and their family members participated. This was followed by plantation drive by the participants from all departments of JSPL’s Angul unit.
Addressing the gathering, Saraogi, said “Protection of Environment is one of the key activities under JSPL’s Sustainability Practice. JSPL Angul has adopted efficient technology and methods to make this plant environment friendly”. He asked for cooperation of all employees, workers and community members for making JSPL Angul unit a clean and green steel plant.
Saraogi also awarded winners of various competitions like Slogan, Drawing, Quiz and Essay on environment, organised on the occasion.
The EMD department under the guidance of JSPL management and its HoD Mr. Alok Kumar Sahu coordinated the programme to spread awareness messages and encourage the participants.
