RAIPUR: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has been honoured with CSR Project of the Decade Award 2018 at Chhattisgarh CSR Leadership Summit organized by India CSR Network, on August 24, 2018 at Raipur, capital of state.
Pradeep Tandon, President & Head of JSPL’s Raipur Unit received the Award from Brijmohan Agarwal, Minister for water resources and agriculture, Chhattisgarh Government and Rusen Kumar, Founder of India CSR Network.
JSPL has been honoured for its decade long contributions towards socio-economic development of Chhattisgarh. The company was selected after meticulous research and review by the organisers. “JSPL Group which operates a mega steel plant at Raigarh and Power Plant at Tamnar is not only an icon of industrialisation in Chhattisgarh, but also is a frontrunner in social investment in the State under the umbrella of JSPL Foundation ,” the organisers mention in the Award Citation.
Congratulating the Team, JSPL Foundation’s Co-Chairperson Shallu Jindal said, “Chhattisgarh has a special place for JSPL group. JSPL Foundation is always committed towards making a positive contribution to improving quality of life of the people, especially the weaker sections and underprivileged. This award is recognition for our commitment for inclusive prosperity of Chhattisgarh.”

During last 10 years JSPL has impacted more than 10 lakh lives with an investment of Rs. 296 Crore in various social sector including health, education, entrepreneurship development, skill building, infrastructure development, art and culture. Some of the significant social development initiatives of JSPL in Chhattisgarh, under the umbrella of JSPL Foundation are OP Jindal Hospital, OP Jindal Schools, OP Jindal University, OP Jindal Community Colleges, WADI programme for tribal development, MASHROOM cultivation move and ASHA – the Hope for rehabilitation of differently abled children and Vastalya for IMR & MMR control.
In the NABARD Consultancy ‘s Study Report on Social Development initiatives of JSPL as well as the community satisfaction index, it has been indicted that there has been substantial improvement in both qualitative and quantitative terms in the lives of the people living in the vicinity of JSPL’s business locations in Chhattisgarh.
Founder & Managing Editor of India CSR Network Rusen Kumar, Lokesh Kawadia, Sarva Mitra Sharma Advisor Dainik Jagran Group, Chirman Jagran Pahel were also present on the occasion. The Chief guest Brijmohan Agrawal congratulated team JSPL for this achievement.
