RAIPUR: At least 25 people from Raigarh and Tamnar tehsils of Chhattisgarh were honored with first ever ‘Swayam Siddh Samman‘ by JSPL Foundation in recognition of their courage, commitment and confidence.
These ambassadors will pan out in other parts of state and country to work for uplift of the underprivileged and guide others to achieve their dreams. The recipients of awards are beneficiaries of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) corporate social responsibility activities.
The awardees were felicitated by JSPL Foundation co-chairperson Shallu Jindal at a function held in state capital. JSPL’s senior CSR officials Col Prakash Tewari, group vice-president, CSR & education, OP Jindal Community College (OPJCC) director Miriam Carter, Raigarh CSR head Jayanta Kumar Mohanty and Tamnar CSR head Albert Peter were among those present. Addressing the gathering, Shallu Jindal said “The idea of holding such awards is to recognize and nurture talent at grassroots level.”
The awardees include Shanti Yadav for Mushroom cultivation, Mandakini Patnaik from Jagriti (soft toy making), Rukamani Patnaik from Vatsalaya (mother and child care programme), Praveen Kumar Nande from Uthan (skill development programme), Geeta Yadav from Swavalamban (livelihood creation programme for women), besides others.
