The eHealth Centres will be launched in a phased manner across Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand. In the first phase, the eHealth Centres will be introduced at Tamnar, Patratu, Barbil and Jeraldabaru.

The initiative is part of JSPL Foundation’s sustained effort to facilitate affordable and accessible healthcare to local communities and society at large.

shallu-jindal “We at JSPL Foundation are committed to enhancing the health profile of our communities, thereby positively impacting the quality of life in our operative eco-system. We take pride in working with HP in this eHealth outreach in India and leveraging technologies such as tele-medicine and cloud capabilities. This initiative will help connect patients in remote areas to receive consultations and early diagnosis from physicians and specialists, all at an affordable cost.”  Shallu Jindal, Chairperson, JSPL Foundation

HP will provide the cloud-enabled eHealth Centre to Jindal Education Welfare Society, Raigarh, which will impart training for the Health Cloud system to the entire paramedics staff and identified doctors of eHC for EMR operations, medical device operations and other operational activities.

JSPL Foundation will help garner awareness around the programme through public awareness campaigns, outreach camps and healthcare education programmes.

Since this initiative was established in 2012, six eHealth Centres have been launched in India, with additional facilities under development, and more than 50,000 patient visits have taken place. The eHealth Center initiative demonstrates how HP can bring 21st-century healthcare to traditionally underserved populations and encourage a healthier, more vibrant global community. This initiative is one example of HP Living Progress—how HP creates a better future for everyone through our actions and innovations.

Speaking at the event about the partnership, Col. Prakash Tewari, Group Vice President, CSR & Education, JSPL said, “I am sure that the eHC Health Cloud technology will ensure that people get the benefit of state-of-the-art medical services at their doorstep, instead of having to travel long distances to urban centres. We are enthused to ably support such an outreach to provide people with specialist services of this kind.”

Ambrish Bakaya, Director Corporate Affairs, HP India along with Col. Prakash Tewari, Group Vice President CSR JSPL at the MoU signing - Copy JSPL Foundation aims at bringing about a radical transformation in the quality of people’s lives in and around the operation areas of the company through positive intervention in social upliftment and revenue generation programs. The CSR programme focuses on education, health, and family welfare, agriculture, animal husbandry, water resource management, infrastructure development, on-farm and off-farm livelihood enhancement and capacity building.

Special focus is given to schemes for women empowerment and imparting vocational skill-based training to the youth of the country.

Several women empowerment initiatives have been undertaken across areas of operation to improve literacy as well as provide training to enhance livelihood generation opportunities for them. Awareness programmes on gender parity, sexual harassment, domestic violence and legal rights are conducted to increase awareness of such issues. Also, different skill development training programmes are regularly organised to upgrade their existing traditional skills and simultaneously promote new ones.

One of the pioneering initiatives taken by the foundation is the establishment of O. P. Jindal Community College. Set up to enhance the skills of many unemployed youth across the country, the O. P. Jindal Community College is one initiative that will generate employment by providing vocational training.
