IPL 2024 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Players List and Squad

The Chennai Super Kings have announced their 25-member squad for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, with MS Dhoni leading the team once again.

IPL 2024: The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have revealed their squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, which is scheduled to start from April 1. The three-time champions have retained their core players, including captain MS Dhoni, vice-captain Ravindra Jadeja, and opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. They have also added some new faces to their roster, such as New Zealand batsman Devon Conway, Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana, and Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube.

The CSK squad for IPL 2024 consists of 25 players, including 8 overseas players. The squad was finalized after the IPL 2024 auction, where CSK bought 9 new players for a total of INR 45.2 crore. Some of the notable additions to the squad are Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, and Maheesh Theekshana. The squad also features some of the established stars of CSK, such as Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Dhoni to lead CSK for the 17th consecutive season

MS Dhoni, who has been the captain of CSK since the inception of the IPL in 2008, will continue to lead the team for the 17th consecutive season. The 42-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has led CSK to four IPL titles, the most recent one being in 2023. He has also scored 4,876 runs in 212 IPL matches, with 24 half-centuries and a strike rate of 136.75. Dhoni is widely regarded as one of the best captains and finishers in the history of the game.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having won the title five times (in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023). CSK was one of the eight original franchises founded in 2008 when the IPL was launched. The team immediately succeeded, reaching the final of the first two seasons.

CSK is led by the former Indian captain, the iconic Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been with the team since its inception. The team is often referred to as the Yellow Army, due to its yellow jersey and loyal fan base. Over the years, the CSK team has had several star players, including Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Shane Watson, and Dwayne Bravo.

In the IPL 2024 auction held in Dubai on Tuesday, CSK strengthened their batting departments by acquiring New Zealand batters Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra. CSK splurged Rs 14 crore to buy Kiwi Mitchell while their second most expensive buy came in the form of Sameer Rizvi who fetched a whopping Rs 8.40 crore – a costliest uncapped Indian player. CSK also added Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman and young wicketkeeper-batter Avanish Rao Aravelly to their squad.

CSK is the defending champion of the IPL, having won the title five times in the past. The team is led by the legendary MS Dhoni, who has been with the team since its inception in 2008. CSK is known for its loyal fan base and consistent performance in the IPL.

CSK added some new players to their squad in the IPL 2024 auction, such as Daryl Mitchell, Sameer Rizvi, Mustafizur Rahman, and Avanish Rao Aravelly. They also retained some of their key players, such as Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
