Today, Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, has donated two ambulances to Narayana Hrudalaya Charitable Trust.
These will be provided to support the Trust deploy more ambulances around Narayana Hrudalaya Health City (NH), Bengaluru, in order to respond to emergencies faster and more effectively, and ensure that critical patients reach the ER without delay.
The two ambulances will be part of NH Health City’s Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) and will be manned by paramedics to ensure immediate initial treatment.
They will operate around a 10 kilometer radius of NH Health City, and will be GPS enabled for the hospital’s central command centre to track.
As per the MoU with Infosys Foundation, these ambulances will be provided free of cost to patients. This collaboration is another step in the Foundation’s efforts to expand hospital facilities and ensure proper medical treatment for patients belonging to the economically weaker sections of society.
At a time when the nation is battling the second wave of the pandemic, the priority for Infosys during this time is to continue extending support to the community.
The company committed Rs.100 crores last year for Covid relief through the Infosys Foundation and has now enhanced that commitment further to Rs. 200 crores.
This will help set up and expand the capacity of Covid-care hospital beds, augment supply of oxygen concentrators and ventilators as well as provide food and support funds to migrant laborers impacted by the lockdowns.

Infosys helped set up a 150-bed Covid care hospital in Bengaluru, in partnership with the State which is currently running at full capacity.
The company is also working with various state governments in providing infrastructure for hospitals across locations in India. In addition, across 6 states in the country Infosys is helping set up oxygen plants, each with the capacity to produce 500 LPM of oxygen.
The company also helped the government of Karnataka to create the Apthamitra app for Covid support for citizens.
