Mumbai – Indiabulls Foundation (IBF), the CSR arm of the Indiabulls Group has announced its 6th consecutive year of their partnership with Smile Train India (STI), the world’s largest children’s cleft charity, to support 2,200 cleft surgeries across the country.
IBF has been supporting STI cleft programmes since 2014 and has supported 3,800 cleft surgeries till the date.
In India, more than 35,000 children are born with a cleft lip or palate every year.
Children with untreated clefts live in isolation, have difficulty in eating, breathing and speaking, as their families cannot afford life-transforming cleft treatment.
STI sustainable model empowers local medical professionals with training and funding to provide free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children globally.
Since the year 2000, STI has supported over 5,50,000 free cleft surgeries throughout the country, through a network of over 160 partner hospitals.
The programme aims at providing safe quality cleft surgeries and empowering the local medical partners to provide comprehensive cleft care to children.
