BENGALURU: Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology India has been awarded the India CSR Leadership Award for its efforts in ‘Environment Conservation’ at the 10th India CSR Awards in Bengaluru on 10th December, 2021.
The award was received by Ravi Arora, Marketing and CSR head from eminent personalities including the honorable chief minister of Karnataka Bassavaraj Bommai, Ms. Kiran Majumdar Shaw, Chairperson of Biocon Group, Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman Niti Ayog and Rusen Kumar, Founder and Managing Editor, India CSR.
This comes as a big recognition for Sandvik’s effort on environment conservation through its project ‘Phytoremediation for the amelioration of environment’.
With 100,000 saplings planted over 40 hectares of land from 10 handpicked remediation species, this project will not only improve the quality of water and soil but also help sequester a total of 17000 tons of CO2 over the next 10 years!
