BHARATPUR (Rajasthan): Bharat Samrudva Abhiyan celebrated the sixth death anniversary of the visionary Dr. Deshbandhu Gupta, the founder of Lupin Limited, with a grand event at Bhuri Singh Gymnasium on Monday. The ceremony was marked with programs aimed at honoring outstanding sports personalities, promoting environmental conservation, and providing essential support to the needy.
Championing Sports Achievements
Under the initiative of Sitaram Gupta, the convenor of the Prosperous India Campaign, the event recognized medal-winning athletes at the international, national, and state level, as well as the national women’s football team. These sports talents were recognized in an effort to underscore the importance of physical activity and sportsmanship in the development of the nation.
Building a Greener India
In response to the growing environmental concerns, a tree plantation drive was launched during the event, adding another feather to the campaign’s cap. The drive, aimed at mitigating pollution, resulted in the planting of six saplings of Kadamba, Amla, and Belpatra, symbolizing the organization’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
Offering Help to the Needy
As part of the event’s welfare activities, Bharat Samrudva Abhiyan also organized a clothing distribution drive to help those in need. The initiative successfully managed to distribute clothes to 101 individuals, reinforcing the organization’s dedication to lending a hand to the less privileged members of society.
Emphasizing Rural Development
In line with Dr. Deshbandhu Gupta’s vision, the event served as a platform to reinforce the commitment to rural development and the upliftment of the needy. An emphasis was placed on providing skill development opportunities to the youth and women in small-scale industries, including training in tailoring, beauty parlour management, and animal husbandry. Industrialist Krishan Kumar Agarwal lauded these initiatives, emphasizing the need to learn from the life of great personalities like Gupta for developing a sense of patriotism and social service.
Felicitating Sporting Heroes
Chunni Kaptan, the program in-charge, highlighted the contributions of Sitaram Gupta in aiding medal-winning athletes, unemployed youth, and those in need. A host of sports personalities, including Para Olympics-2022 badminton gold winner Krishna Nagar and World Cup-2023 shooting medalists Rukansh Khandelwal and Amit Sharma, were honored during the event. Furthermore, 21-footwall female players were acknowledged for their contributions to sports and the pride they brought to the nation.
