UDAIPUR (India CSR): Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and one of the top five silver producers globally, is advancing its sustainability leadership with EcoZen, its pioneering low-carbon zinc brand. As Asia’s first low-carbon zinc, EcoZen delivers over 75% lower carbon intensity compared to conventional zinc, setting new benchmarks in green manufacturing and unlocking low-carbon supply chains across India’s key growth sectors such as automotive, renewables, and infrastructure.

Produced using renewable energy and backed by Hindustan Zinc’s REACH certification, the product aligns with global standards for responsible manufacturing. Developed to enable an estimated carbon emission avoidance of approximately 400 kg for every tonne of steel galvanized, EcoZen offers a forward-looking solution for low-carbon industrial applications.

EcoZen solidifies Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to embedding sustainability into its core operations, marking a transformational step in responsible resource production. By combining advanced technology with renewable energy, Hindustan Zinc continues to align its operations with global sustainability goals and drive positive climate action. As industries worldwide accelerate their transition towards low-carbon materials, the demand for climate-friendly metals is surging. EcoZen addresses this need by offering a made in India, high-performance, low-carbon zinc solution that supports industrial decarbonization without compromising on quality, reliability, or strength while contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Commenting on this, Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, said: “At Hindustan Zinc, sustainability and innovation are not just strategic priorities, they are the foundation of our operations. EcoZen represents a significant leap in reimagining traditional industries through technology and sustainable innovation. By reducing the carbon footprint of zinc production, we are enabling customers worldwide to achieve their sustainability goals while strengthening our commitment to responsible mining and manufacturing practices. Our focus remains on developing products that enable and accelerate the global transition to a low-carbon economy.”

By supporting compliance with both domestic and international climate regulations, EcoZen not only helps industries reduce their carbon footprint but also strengthens their overall sustainability credentials. Its adoption promotes the transition from conventional zinc to cleaner, more sustainable technologies, driving long-term value creation for Hindustan Zinc and its global partners.

With its supply network spanning over 40 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and beyond, Hindustan Zinc is well-positioned to scale the global adoption of EcoZen. Leveraging its robust international presence, the company aims to establish EcoZen as the preferred low-carbon zinc solution for industries committed to sustainable growth. By combining world-class production facilities, renewable energy usage, and a strong logistics network, Hindustan Zinc remains focused on delivering responsibly produced materials to its customers.

As a global leader in integrated production, Hindustan Zinc continues to expand its diversified portfolio including refined zinc and silver, with a strong focus on efficiency, innovation, and environmental stewardship. With EcoZen, Hindustan Zinc reaffirms its role as a pioneer in sustainable metals, driving India’s transition toward a low-carbon economy and setting new global standards in responsible manufacturing.
