UDAIPUR (India CSR): Hindustan Zinc’s CSR initiative, Project Samadhan, successfully collaborated with the Central Institute for Arid Horticulture (CIAH), Bikaner, an Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) institute, to implement a Free Vegetable Seed Kit Distribution Program from October 7th to 10th. This initiative aimed to support local farmers and enhance agricultural productivity across several panchayats in and around the rural areas of Udaipur.
Approximately 2,000 farmers from Zawar, Tidi, Amarpura, and Chanavada panchayats benefited from high-quality vegetable seed kits, which included eight types of seeds: spinach, radish, mustard, tomato, peas, onion, carrot, fenugreek, and coriander. This program aligns with government schemes promoting agricultural development and operates under the भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद केंद्रीय शुष्क बागवानी संस्थान बीकानेर के द्वारा अनुसूचित जनजाति उपयोजना. The diverse selection of seeds enhances crop variety and supports nutritional needs.
Moreover, the collaboration with CIAH equipped farmers with valuable insights into sustainable farming practices, while BAIF (Bharatiya Agro Industries Foundation) our partner, played a crucial role in facilitating outreach and implementation.
By continuing to support local agriculture and foster community collaboration, Project Samadhan aims to create lasting positive impacts, ensuring that farmers have the resources and knowledge needed to thrive in an ever-changing landscape. This Seed Distribution Program undoubtedly marked a significant step toward improving the quality of life for farmers across the region, highlighting Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and community upliftment practices.
