UDAIPUR (India CSR): Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world’s second-largest integrated zinc producer, addressed the graduating students of the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM Udaipur) as the Chief Guest at their convocation ceremony held on campus today. During the event she engaged with the students and faculty members, sharing her experiences, filling the room with motivation and pride.
While delivering the keynote address, Priya Agarwal Hebbar said, “Normal is just another word for uninspired and mediocre – so break the sclerotic definitions that the world assigns and dance to the rhythm of your quirky heart & mind.”
In her inspiring address to the graduating class of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration for Working Executives, 2024, Ms. Hebbar spoke about her life journey and how that has navigated her with her motto of being comfortable in discomfort. She further emphasized on having faith in the discomfort, the course life will chart, and the valuable lessons it entails.
Ms. Hebbar is the Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc and Non-Executive Director at Vedanta Limited has been instrumental in bringing transformational change in a male-dominated industry. Apart from her business acumen, she is also deeply passionate about the environment & sustainability and has been playing an instrumental role in the ESG transformation at Vedanta. With focused action plans on decarbonization, water positivity, workplace safety, community welfare and workforce diversity, Priya’s leadership is driving Vedanta on a transformative journey to emerge as an industry leader in ESG.
Hebbar concluded her remarks by stating, “Today, as you graduate from this prestigious University, just know this truth that life is not about accomplishments on your CV or material acquisitions. Life is messy.”
