Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited Commits to Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility. The company contributed Rs. 270 Crore to the exchequer.


NEW DELHI (India CSR): Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) is a leading chemical company that has shown its commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. The company has invested in initiatives aimed at promoting education, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, healthcare, rural development, and empowering women.

Investment in CSR and Contribution to Exchequer

In FY22, GFL spent Rs. 10.57 Crore on CSR activities. The company contributed Rs. 270 Crore to the exchequer, benefiting 44,320 shareholders. The company’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility is reflected in its alignment with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and its programmes that align with 16 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The company CSR policy aims to create value for the communities in which it operates and promote sustainable growth for society and the community. The policy outlines the guidelines and mechanisms for undertaking programmes for social welfare and sustainable development. This ensuring the company’s business operations are economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable. while considering the interests of all stakeholders.

Alignment with Companies Act, 2013

The initiatives and activities carried out by the company align with the requirements of Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 and include projects and activities prescribed under Schedule VII of the act. The company has spent more than the statutory requirement of 3.68% towards CSR activities, including the 2.61% surplus amount spent in the previous financial year. The investment in CSR activities has helped the company contribute to the socio-economic development of the communities in which it operates and make a positive impact on the lives of its stakeholders.
