HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based philatelist and numismatist Sri Sankara Rao Kondapaneni has secured a place in the Guinness World Records VIP Personalized Book 2027, marking another milestone in his long-standing journey of promoting philately, numismatics and meaningful hobbies as constructive activities for individuals, particularly students and young people.

Known for his work in the fields of stamp and coin collecting, Sankara Rao Kondapaneni has achieved three Guinness World Records for historically significant collections in philately and numismatics. Beyond the recognition associated with these achievements, he has been using his experience and public platform to promote a wider social message through his “HOBBIES FOR HUMANITY” movement.

Turning Recognition into a Social Message

For Sankara Rao, collecting stamps and coins is more than a personal interest. He believes that hobbies can provide people with productive ways to use their time, develop concentration and curiosity, and explore history, culture and knowledge.

Through the HOBBIES FOR HUMANITY initiative, he aims to encourage students, employees and members of the wider community to explore constructive hobbies rather than becoming overly dependent on activities that can negatively affect their personal and professional lives.

Speaking about the purpose behind his initiative, Sri Sankara Rao Kondapaneni said, “Today, students and employees are facing challenges such as drug addiction, excessive social media use, online betting and gaming. Through HOBBIES FOR HUMANITY, I want to encourage people to discover positive and creative interests that can help them use their time constructively.”

He further emphasised his belief in the power of hobbies, saying, “A good hobby, whether it is stamp collection, coin collection or another meaningful activity, can help develop the mind constructively. My slogan is HOBBIES BUILD YOU, NOT JUST OCCUPIES YOU.”

Promoting Philately and Numismatics

Philately and numismatics offer enthusiasts an opportunity to explore history through physical objects. Stamps can reflect important events, personalities, cultures and achievements, while coins can provide insights into different periods, rulers, economies and societies.

Sankara Rao has been associated with these fields for years and has built historically significant collections that have earned international recognition. His three Guinness World Records have further highlighted his contribution to the world of collecting.

His latest appearance in the Guinness World Records VIP Personalized Book 2027 adds another chapter to this journey. For him, however, the recognition represents more than an individual achievement. It also provides an opportunity to bring greater attention to the value of hobbies and collecting among younger generations.

HOBBIES FOR HUMANITY and Youth Engagement

The HOBBIES FOR HUMANITY movement is built around a simple idea: encouraging people to develop interests that promote learning, creativity and constructive engagement.

The initiative particularly focuses on students and young people, with the broader objective of encouraging them to spend time developing skills and interests that can contribute positively to their lives. The movement also seeks to remind parents of the importance of exposing children to healthy and meaningful hobbies from an early age.

According to Sankara Rao, activities such as collecting stamps and coins can encourage observation, research, patience and an interest in history. Such hobbies can also become opportunities for people to connect with communities of fellow enthusiasts and exchange knowledge.

Growing Global Visibility

The message associated with Sankara Rao’s work has also received online media attention. According to information shared by the initiative, articles highlighting his work and the HOBBIES FOR HUMANITY message have been published by 629 news websites across different parts of the world.

These publications have helped extend the conversation beyond philately and numismatics, focusing on the broader idea of encouraging constructive hobbies as part of a balanced lifestyle.

The recognition in the Guinness World Records VIP Personalized Book 2027 therefore comes at a significant point in Sankara Rao’s journey. It combines his achievements as a collector with his continuing effort to promote a social message centred on hobbies, learning and positive engagement.

A Message for Parents and Students

Sankara Rao hopes that his journey will encourage more families to introduce children to hobbies that match their interests and abilities. Whether it is collecting, reading, art, music, sports, writing or another constructive pursuit, he believes that having a meaningful hobby can help individuals develop discipline, curiosity and creativity.

For him, the ultimate purpose of recognition is not simply to celebrate a record, but to use that visibility to encourage a positive change in society.

With his latest inclusion in the Guinness World Records VIP Personalized Book 2027, Sankara Rao Kondapaneni continues to connect his achievements in philately and numismatics with a larger mission: encouraging people to discover meaningful hobbies and make constructive use of their time.
