VIZAG: Gangavaram Port Limited as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility program today distributed training certificates and sewing machines to 50 women from Gangavaram village that have successfully completed 6 weeks of sewing training program conducted by IL&FS.
KRR Naidu (Sr Vice President R R & Security) in the presence of M Jaganmohan Reddy, VP (Security), LPS Ramu Naidu Vice President (R R & Security), M Gopal Rao (AVP (HR&IR) and Perla Dhana Raju handed over the certificates and sewing machines to the women at a function held at the port premises.
The training program which has finished five batches, has received fantastic response from the neighbouring villages that have benefitted from the same. The main objective of the Sewing training is to provide women an opportunity to be self-employed and supplement the family income.
According to Gangavaram Port management, “At Gangavaram Port we want to uplift and give equal status to the women and help them gain respect in the society. The sewing training program by Gangavaram Port has helped in providing women the means to support themselves and their families. We are extremely pleased at the response for the sewing training program and will continue to support the women in our neighbourhood.”
