Peddapalli, Telangana: In an era where many professionals dream of moving abroad, entrepreneur Santhosh Manchala chose a different path. After building a successful career in the software industry and working in New York, USA, he returned to India with a mission to create impact through health, wellness, and employment generation.

Santhosh, who spent several years working in the software industry across India and the United States, was involved in large-scale enterprise technology projects and trained hundreds of business users across multiple countries. Despite professional success and financial stability, he felt a growing desire to build something meaningful in India.

Driven by a vision to improve health outcomes and create employment opportunities, he founded Dr.WELLNESSON, a wellness-focused brand offering healthy snacks, millet products, protein-rich foods, cold-pressed oils, and daily nutrition products.

However, the journey was far from easy.

Like many entrepreneurs, the company faced significant setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Business disruptions, operational challenges, and financial losses forced the founder to rethink the entire model. After exhausting substantial personal savings and facing multiple business challenges, he returned to his hometown of Peddapalli to rebuild from the ground up.

Instead of giving up, the team spent time understanding consumer behavior, improving product quality, strengthening supply chains, and redesigning the business model with long-term sustainability in mind.

Today, Dr.WELLNESSON is emerging as a purpose-driven wellness brand focused on creating impact beyond products.

One of the company’s most notable initiatives is its effort to generate employment opportunities for women in small towns. Through its local production activities, the company engages homemakers and women workers in food processing and packaging operations, helping them earn income while remaining close to their families.

“One of the most satisfying aspects of this journey is seeing local women proudly contribute to products that are reaching customers across different cities. It demonstrates that quality manufacturing and entrepreneurship can thrive even in smaller towns,” said Santhosh Manchala, Founder of Dr.WELLNESSON.

The company also works towards sourcing agricultural produce wherever possible through farmer networks and producer organizations, supporting local value chains while promoting healthier food alternatives.

Dr.WELLNESSON currently offers more than 30 wellness-oriented products across categories including healthy snacks, millet-based foods, protein snacks, cold-pressed oils, and nutrition beverages. The brand is expanding through retail channels, e-commerce platforms, quick-commerce platforms, and a growing network of distributors and micro-entrepreneurs.

Beyond products, the company is also building community wellness initiatives focused on yoga, nutrition awareness, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle improvement programs.

The founder believes that India’s next wave of entrepreneurship will emerge not only from metropolitan cities but also from smaller towns where talent, determination, and community support can create lasting impact.

“Our vision has always been bigger than selling products. We want to build a wellness ecosystem that improves health, creates employment, supports local communities, and inspires others to start businesses in their own towns,” he added.

As Dr.WELLNESSON continues to grow, its journey serves as an example of how resilience, purpose, and community-focused entrepreneurship can transform setbacks into opportunities for meaningful impact.
