‘Fighter’ Box Office Day 4: The aerial action film ‘Fighter’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as Indian Air Force officers, has crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone in India within four days of its release. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike for its thrilling sequences, patriotic theme, and stellar performances.
‘Fighter’ gets a boost from Republic Day holiday
The film, which released on January 25, 2024, had a slow start on its opening day, earning around Rs 22.50 crore. However, it saw a huge jump on Republic Day, making Rs 39.50 crore, thanks to the national holiday and the word of mouth. The film maintained its momentum on Saturday and Sunday, collecting Rs 27.50 crore and Rs 28.50 crore respectively, as per a report by Sacnilk.com. The total collection of the film so far in India is Rs 118 crore, making it the fastest film of Hrithik Roshan to cross the Rs 100 crore mark.
‘Fighter’ emerges as a hit in overseas markets
The film has also done well in the overseas markets, crossing Rs 150 crore in terms of gross collections within the first three days of its release. The film has performed especially well in the US and Canada, where it has seen a huge jump on Saturday and Sunday. According to film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, the film is having a strong hold in key areas. The film is also expected to get a release in UAE next week, after getting clearance from the censor board on Monday.
‘Fighter’ pays tribute to the courage of the Indian Air Force
The film, which is based on the events around the Pulwama attack, pays homage to the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Air Force officials. The film features Hrithik Roshan as Wing Commander Abhinav Singh, who leads a covert mission to destroy a terrorist camp in Pakistan. Deepika Padukone plays Flight Lieutenant Naina Sharma, who joins him as his co-pilot and love interest. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Ashutosh Rana, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Talat Aziz in supporting roles.
The film has received praise from critics and moviegoers for its realistic depiction of the aerial combat, the chemistry between the lead pair, and the patriotic message.
