Artificial intelligence is moving beyond travel planning and into the journey itself. Explurger is taking that shift across India with NiVU, its AI-powered travel companion, expanding from Andhra Pradesh to Goa and now Delhi to create a more interactive, contextual, and connected way for travellers to experience destinations.

For Jitin Bhatia, Founder & CEO of Explurger, the opportunity lies in using technology to enhance—not replace—the human experience of travel. His vision is to make journeys more informed and personalised by giving travellers access to relevant information exactly when and where they need it.

NiVU is bringing that vision to life through QR-enabled AI boards installed at tourist destinations. The journey began in Andhra Pradesh, where Explurger partnered with Andhra Pradesh Tourism as the state works towards a more technology-driven tourism ecosystem. Travellers can scan a NiVU QR code at participating locations and interact with an AI-powered travel companion for destination information, historical context, local stories, recommendations, navigation, and other travel insights.

With multilingual capabilities, NiVU is designed to make destination information accessible to travellers from across India and around the world. From temples and heritage sites to museums, islands and local markets, the Andhra Pradesh rollout demonstrates how AI can add a digital layer to the physical travel experience.

The expansion then moved to Goa, bringing NiVU into a tourism landscape shaped by beaches, forts, churches, heritage landmarks and local experiences. At participating locations, AI-enabled boards help visitors understand where they are, discover its stories, and explore experiences beyond the obvious attractions.

The approach signals a shift in how AI can be used in tourism. Instead of remaining confined to trip planning or online searches, technology becomes part of the destination itself—available to travellers as they explore.

Recently, Explurger brought its technology-led vision for the future of tourism to the 41st IATO Annual Convention, held from September 10–13, 2026, at Novotel Visakhapatnam, under the theme “India: The World’s Next Tourism Opportunity.” The company contributed to discussions on how AI and emerging technologies are transforming the travel ecosystem and creating new possibilities for more connected, personalised and seamless journeys. Jitin Bhatia, Founder & CEO of Explurger, spoke on “The Future Tour Operator — AI & Technology,” highlighting how AI, real-time data and emerging technologies are reshaping the role of tour operators—from simply planning trips to delivering intelligent, personalised and seamless travel experiences.

Delhi is now the latest chapter in NiVU’s expansion. With its vast mix of historic monuments, museums, markets, food districts and neighbourhood experiences, the capital offers a diverse environment for AI-led destination discovery. NiVU is designed to help travellers go beyond simply visiting a landmark by providing contextual information, historical insights and suggestions that can lead them towards deeper experiences around a destination.

The technology also opens up possibilities for travel creators, who increasingly play a role in how destinations are discovered. Access to local history, lesser-known experiences and contextual destination information can help creators move beyond simply showcasing a place and instead tell richer stories around it.

For travellers, creators and tourism stakeholders, the emerging ecosystem brings together destination information, AI and real-world exploration in a single experience.

From Andhra Pradesh to Goa and now Delhi, NiVU’s expansion reflects Explurger’s broader push to bring AI closer to the traveller. The objective is not simply to digitise tourism, but to make discovering a destination more informed, interactive and relevant.
