K Anvar Sadath is the Chief Executive Officer of Eram Scientific Solutions Pvt. Ltd. since 2012. He has played a critical role in building the brand “eToilet”, India’s First Electronic Public Toilet. Under his leadership, the Company has expanded its reach in over 11 states in India with 600+ eToilets in the field and 35 awards to its name. He also heads the Innovative Projects department of the Company and is the principal investigator for the RTTC-India 2014.
Before shouldering the present assignments, Anvar was working as the Executive Director of IT@School Project under Govt of Kerala. He was also in-charge of the satellite based education (EDUSAT) initiatives in the State and an exclusive educational channel called ‘ViCTERS’ (Virtual Classroom Technology on Edusat for Rural Schools). He led the implementation of ICT enabled education, Broadband internet, ICT infrastructure deployment, e-Governance activities, e-Content development, Capacity building programmes, Smart School initiatives, Laptops to Teachers scheme etc. in the education department catering 6m students and .2m teachers. Under IT@School programme, Kerala, the southernmost State is considered to be the leader in ICT education in the country. He was also a member in the Syndicate of Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT).
Previously, Anvar was working as the Director of Akshaya , the largest tele-center project in India, where in he was instrumental in establishing Rural Internet Connectivity Infrastructure deployment in addition to imparting computer literacy to 6.4 million families through 3000 tele-centers. He was also heading the UNDP supported e-Krishi project, a Market-led Agricultural Initiative through IT-enabled Agri Business Centres. He has also worked with Information Kerala Mission, the agency for the computerisation of Local Self Government Institutions in Kerala, wherein he headed e-governance projects like establishment of Single Window Service counters in all Urban Local bodies. He has come out with Master’s degree in Computer Applications in 1997 and started his career with CDAC, a Govt of India Institution.
Under his leadership IT@School has attained many national and international recognitions like ‘Honorary Mention’ in Stockholm Challenge Award -2010, Open Document Format Alliance International Award in 2009 etc. He has been invited for paper presentations in several international forums. He has authored 8 books on the IT and technology genre and is the recipient of several awards such as the Science Literature Award 2005 and Dr. C.P. Menon Memorial Award in 2012 for Scientific Literature. He is also a member of the National Resource Group for RMSA Programme constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource & Development, Govt. of India.
