Bengaluru: The Embassy Group, a leading business group in India, has made significant progress towards their CSR vision this year through their Community Outreach team’s efforts. One of their main focuses has been contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and they have done so through their three pillars of Education, Sustainable Infrastructure, and Community Engagement. Under the Corporate Connect program, the group has partnered with 34 other corporates to implement 63 projects in the areas of education, public infrastructure, health, and Covid-19 relief.
In addition to their work on the SDGs, the Embassy Group has also made a significant impact in sustainable infrastructure. They have partnered with the Anonymous India Charitable Trust (TAICT) to create the EcoGram program, which focuses on waste, water, and soil management in peri-urban areas adjacent to Bangalore. The initiative has also included the “Ecogram Shakti Program,” which empowers local women to drive environmental sustainability in their communities.
Additionally, the group has invested in the construction of an Integrated Waste Management Centre for the Bettahalasuru Panchayat, which will benefit around 4000 households and provide decentralised, sustainable solid waste management services. The group has also supported the running of a dialysis centre and clinic at the Sarvagna Healthcare Institute, providing free and subsidised consultations and dialyses to over 3838 patients.
In the realm of education and healthcare, the Embassy Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Education in Karnataka to create model schools for the all-inclusive development of government schools in Bangalore.
Through this initiative, they have provided resources, infrastructural support, and holistic health programs to 22 government schools, benefiting over 42,000 students. The group has also provided education and hygiene programs to over 18,764 students from 43 government schools through the Embassy Education Academy.
Overall, the Embassy Group’s Community Outreach team has made significant progress towards their CSR vision this year through their efforts in sustainable development, sustainable infrastructure, and education and healthcare interventions. Their innovative programs and partnerships have had a positive impact on the communities they serve and have set a high standard for corporate social responsibility in the industry, said Shaina Ganapathy, Head of Community Outreach, Embassy Group.
