Dr Hishmi Jamil Husain is having more than 14 years national and international experience in the field ofEnvironment Management and Sustainable Development. He did Post Graduate Diploma in Universalization of Socio-economic Securities from International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University, (The Hague, The Netherlands), Executive Master in e Governance from EPFL, Lausanne, (Switzerland) and Ph.D in Lithology and Soil Characteristics in Relation to Forest Vegetation of Garhwal Himalaya from Forest Research Institute, University, Dehradun, (India).
For different trainings, studies and research he has visited countries USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Singapore, Estonia, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Sri Lankha Qatar etc. He got several fellowships and recognitions nationally and internationally. His name is among the notable alumni of International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University andAligarh Muslim University.
Dr Hishmi is on board of several national and internal bodies. He is visiting faculty and distinguished speaker in India and aboard on biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, legal compliance,social corporate responsibility and environment management. His background in geology, environment science and development economics allows him to empathize with those who seek an understanding of sustainable development. He receives consistently high ratings for his breadth of knowledge of the subject matter. He advises Rio Tinto India businesses on standardization and review of policies, norms and implementation. Benchmark global best practices and enhance biodiversity conservation, environment and water performance. He is responsible to develop and implement HSE & Sustainability strategy for mining projects
He is having two books, several papers and more than 160 articles in his credit. Presently Dr Hishmi is working with Rio Tinto.
